MiscellaneaThe art of Reymond Peynet |
I suspect that many of the more age advantaged among us will have fond memories of the whimsical sketches of the French cartoonist Raymond Peynet (1908-1999). In 1942 he noticed a pair of lovers on a park bench, and was inspired by them to create more than 6000 cartoons celebrating their love. This charming advertisement is in the book "1000 Dessous" by Gilles Neret, where it stands out like a jewel among the surrounding dross.
This is another very typical example of his work.
