Men who are concerned that people might notice that they are wearing girdles, and take offense, should take heart from the fact that it is now apparently quite fashionable for sportsmen both to wear girdles and to flash them in public, even when the game is being televised. The picture on the right appeared in the Melbourne Age on Monday, July 26, 2004. It was one of two pictures in that edition in which footballers were brazenly displaying their girdles -- oops: compression briefs.
