Michael Colmer: Whalebone to See-Through

For more than 50 years I have been fascinated by Corsetry -- bras and girdles in their innumerable permutations, the stockings that went with them, and the way they were influenced by, and influenced, women's fashion, through the centuries.

I have prepared this website both as a hobby, and to educate, and hopefully amuse, anyone who would like to learn more about the garments their mothers and grandmothers, and their sisters and their cousins and their aunts, wore to provide the proper foundation for their outer clothing.

This site is devoted primarily to women's underwear. I consider that there is nothing on this site which is not in good taste, so if you are are not interested in underwear, or you are looking for porn, please go somewhere else.

I have tried to acknowledge all the material used on this web site, with proper references. Should anything here infringe your copyright, please let me know so that I can remove it.
